MORE THAN ART.
A REMINDER THAT YOU’RE NOT ALONE.
Head + Heart started as an idea for a mental health awareness clothing brand. The original goal was simple: to raise awareness of the struggles so many of us face, and to show that there is no shame in feeling this way, asking for help, or simply struggling sometimes.
The idea was always about creating something that could start conversations, challenge the stigma around mental health and remind people that they aren’t alone in what they’re going through.
But bringing that idea to life hasn’t always been easy. Through the hard times, setbacks and challenges of trying to get Head + Heart off the ground, the idea began to evolve into something more.
It became less about simply creating a mental health awareness brand and more about creating something built around who we are as people — what we think, what we feel, what we struggle with and what makes us keep going.
WHY HEAD + HEART?
The name came from what I believe are two of the most important parts of all of us: Our head. And our heart.
Our head represents the mental side of life — our thoughts, logic, worries, stresses, fears and the countless things that run through our minds every day.
Our heart represents our emotions and feelings — the things we care about, the connections we make, the passion we have and the things that affect us on a deeper level.
Both are incredibly powerful on their own. But they also work together. And they don’t always agree.
Sometimes our head tells us one thing while our heart tells us something completely different. That can create conflict, uncertainty and some of the most difficult decisions we face. But that conflict doesn’t mean one is wrong.
Both are vitally important to who we are. Our thoughts shape how we see the world. Our emotions shape how we experience it. Together, they help make us who we are. That’s Head + Heart.
WHY WE CREATE
Head + Heart isn’t about pretending that life is always positive. It’s about acknowledging that life can be difficult — and that struggling doesn’t make you weak.
We want the things we create to carry that message. A piece of artwork might remind you of something you’ve overcome. It might represent something you believe in. It might make you feel understood. It might start a conversation. Or it might simply be something that makes you think: “That’s me.”
If something we create can make someone feel a little less alone, give them a little inspiration, or remind them of their own strength, then it has a purpose.
CREATE WITH PURPOSE. BUILT TO LAST.
We believe the things we create should have meaning behind them. That starts with the idea, but it doesn’t end there.
We care about the artwork, the materials, the details and the finished product. We’re not interested in creating something simply because we can.
“Create with purpose. Built to last.” It’s more than a tagline. It’s how we want to approach everything we make.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
PURPOSE
Create with intention. Everything should have a reason to exist.
AUTHENTICITY
Be honest about who you are. There is no shame in being human.
INDIVIDUALITY
You don’t have to follow the crowd. Be yourself.
GROWTH
You don’t have to have everything figured out. Keep moving forward.
KINDNESS
You never know what someone else is carrying.
COURAGE
Being strong doesn’t mean never struggling. Sometimes courage is simply carrying on.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Take pride in what you create. Quality matters.
THE JOURNEY
Head + Heart has changed since the original idea. And that’s okay. The vision has grown, the artwork has evolved and the things we create continue to change.
But the reason behind it remains: to create something honest, something with character, something that can make people feel something. And hopefully, something that reminds someone that whatever they’re facing, they don’t have to face it feeling ashamed of who they are.
WHAT COMES NEXT
This is still the beginning. There are ideas we haven’t created yet, artwork we haven’t drawn, collections we haven’t imagined and people we haven’t reached.
Head + Heart will continue to evolve, but the foundation will stay the same: Create with purpose. Be honest. Keep growing. Look after each other. And never be ashamed of being human.
